Tuition Benefits

Undergraduate School

All members of the ordinary faculty and full-time staff are eligible to a waiver of tuition for taking courses in the undergraduate program immediately upon full-time employment.  After two years of full-time employment (as of the start of the academic year), members of an employee’s immediate family (spouse, sons, daughters) are eligible for tuition remission at the rate of 25% per year of service up to full remission (15% per year for academic-year employees). Graduate School

Tuition Assistance Policy

Providence College provides tuition assistance as an additional education benefit to those employees enrolled in job-related undergraduate or master’s level degree programs or courses not offered at Providence College and that directly improve the employee’s ability to contribute to Providence College in his/her current position.  The College reserves its right to reevaluate, modify or rescind this program at any time with or without notification.

  • Employees must be full-time, academic-year or full-time, full-year and must have completed a minimum of 12 months of continuous service.
  • Employees must be employed at Providence College on the first day of classes and upon completion of the course, must be considered in good standing.  All courses must be taken during non-work hours.
  • The cost of books, lab fees, registration fees, supplies, etc., is not reimbursable.  

Tuition Assistance Amounts are as follows:

Undergraduate

  • 100% tuition reimbursement (up to 5 courses per calendar year)  for an earned grade categorized as an A or B.
  • 75% tuition reimbursement for an earned grade categorized as a C.
  • Any grade categorized as a D or below will not qualify for reimbursement.

Master’s level

  • Tuition costs to a maximum of $2,000 per semester.
  • The expectation is that the employee will remain employed by the College for at least two (2) years after the completion of a program.
  • Limited to one master’s program per employee.
